What are blogs?

A blog is an abbreviation of the term 'web log'. Blogs are websites ordinarily maintained by an individual that allow for regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events or other similar material. Blogs include images and media files as well. Blogs can be differentiated by:

  • Genre - political blogs, business blogs that include corporate blogs, marketing blogs, branding blogs or public relations blogs, opinion blogs, travel blogs, personal blogs, advice blogs, how-to blogs, legal blogs, fashion blogs, educational blogs, niche blogs.
  • Media - text blogs, photo blogs, sketch blogs, video blogs, blogs with shorter posts and mixed media are called tumble blogs.
  • Device - Blogs can also be differentiated on the basis of the device they were input. Mobile blogs are called moblogs.
